Icons that move uncontrolled

Hi all,
Win XP pro SP3
The icons on my desktop have taken to moving from where I had set them.
Usually when I startup all the icons are up the left handside instead of
being around the edges.
Any help please

Right click an open area on the desktop.

Choose Arrane Icons By and click AutoArrange to remove the tick mark.
You can do the same with the Aling to Grid if you want more resolution,
too.

Twayne, It would be marvelleous if this would do the trick. It does not for
me. I have grided, ungrided, locked, etc, all those things. My icons move
right across the desktop at times.

Sorry to hear that; sounds like corruption or maybe malware has gotten
in. I don't know anything that would cause it other than what I've
listed. Hope you'll post back when you get it figured out. That has to
be pretty annoying.

Check current user have total access to registry key and subkey
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags
