When I got my Dell with Win.XP Pro on it, the system tray was set to not
show the icons of currently loaded programs. How do I change this so
they show all the time? My main interest is knowing that I have mail
while I'm in something other than my mail program - I'd like to see that
little white envelope there. Does it stay until I've read the mail?
Using Thunderbird 1.5, if that matters.
Thanks.

hi dan

you can normally get to this by right clicking on the start bar and
then select customise, you should then see an option to customise the
notification icons, in here you can set them to show all, or hide icons that
are not in use and other option too, hope this helps, pete

I'm actually kind of suprised that there wasn't 15 or more of those there
on a PC from Dell.

Ah - exactly what I wanted - Thank you!
Well, not exactly. The envelope stayed there until I went back to the
mail program, but disappeared before I looked at the new mail. But close
enough.
