icons loading slowly in folders

I find that the icons in any folders that contain images
(may happen with other files) load really slowly. I use
high res files typically 3MB+ and they load extreamly
slowly this is cramping work flow. The same thing
happened with XP home and it was fixed some how but with
my new XP pro it is driving me crazy!! help please before
another computer decides to crash through a window.

This problem referes to the icons' cache. The system uses
a part of the memory to store large icons [personalized
ones] for quick loading.
In the Icon Settings move the slider for the cache memory
higher.
