Icons in Favorites Menu keep changing....

When I add a site to my favorites they sometimes have
their own icon, but for some reason the icons keep
changing to the "e" for Internet Explorer. The only way I
have found to get the original icons back is to re-add
the site, close browser, then re-open it.
If anyone can tell me why this is happening or what I can
do to get the icons to stay put, I would appreciate it.
I use Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.

These "specailized" icons are called FavIcons. They are downloaded from the
server hosting the web site you visit to a temporary folder on your
computer. If a site doesn't have a FavIcon, your browser uses the default
"e" symbol.

The trouble with FavIcons is that when the browser cache is cleared, the
FavIcon is lost and you have to delete the entry in your Favorites, return
to the site, and add the site to your Favorites again. If you'd like to
