HI,
Hope someone has an answer to my problem. I share a
computer with other family members. When they add
programs to the computer, an icon goes on their desktop
and mine. If I remove the icon on my desktop, it removes
it from theirs. How can I just remove it from my
desktop. All of us have administrator accounts. Hope
someone can answer this question. Thanks for any help.

Whats happening is that the icon is being placed on the "All Users" Desktop
which is common to every user on the system, so when u delete the icon, it
gets deleted for everyone.

What you can do is that cut and paste the icon from the "C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Desktop" folder to the desktop folders of only those
users who need it. You can find other user's desktop at "C:\Documents and
Settings\<user>\Desktop" where <user> can be replaced by the respective
usernames
