Some times, the icons are larger than normal in the
taskbar and onto the title bar of a window. I must
restart Windows to correct the problem.

Does someone have a permanent solution to correct this?

Try updating to the latest patches for windows and check
to see if there is an updated version of your video
drivers too.

I am up to date for Windows patched (Microsoft) and there
is no video driver for my card. But, i found an updated
driver at the ATI web site.

It would take a while to see if the problemcome back.

.
my friend had the same problem a year ago. it turn out it
was a virus. eventually the mouse stoped working and he
couldnt do any thing they had to pay someone to clean out
the cpu. he had to delete all programs and reinstall all
programs and even windows. you might want to have that
checked out

Hi Stephan,

This can happen by opening Accessibility Options, etc. If the icons on the
Quick Launch bar are showing as being larger, it will result in the taskbar
being twice its height and also include the date or similar under the clock.

If this is the case, right click the Desktop/Properties/Appearance/
Advanced. Under the Item drop box choose Caption Buttons and change the
number by one, ok your way out, then rest to 25.

And/or reset your default to the XP Theme.
