Hey guys,

My mom recently purchased a computer and some how she
managed to change the text on the icons or any menu item
so that it's so small we can't see it. How do we recover
the original factory settings for the desktop?

-Thanks

The settings are in Control Panel/Display/Appearance Tab/Advanced Button.
Click on the Item drop down menu and select Icon. You can change the size of
the icon, font and font size there.

Right. I am aware of where the selections for the text
control is..It's just it's small we can not see it, to
navigate to it. Is there a way to recover the original
factory settings?

Thanks

Try this:

Start computer in Safe Mode.

Navigate to the users startup folder...i.e.

"C:\Documents and Settings\Keith\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"

create a new shortcut with the following target:

"C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna\luna.msstyles"

Then restart and log in as the user in question. The display properties dialog will appear, click
OK (or press enter), and all display settings should return to default.

Hi All, Although I agree with the other two submissions I
wounder if it would be in your better interest to just use
the "System Restore" feature found in System Tools, just
be sure to use a restore point that is Before you mom made
the changes ...
Good Luck eh
