Is there a way to make bigger icons than one can
make with the C# visual IDE, and with more pixels?
Or, alternatively to process a jpeg into an icon?
Many thanks.

Patrick,

Inside of VS.NET, I don't believe so. However, there are a number of
programs that you can use to edit icons, and create icons from other
formats. Axialis IconWorkshop is an excellent program to do such icon
manipulation, IMO.

Hope this helps.

Yest I heard you can do icons with Photoshop, but the package is too
expensive.

Thank you anyway.

Hi,

I just remembered, I wrote a console tool that could be used for this
purpose a couple of years ago. I still have it but I can't find the source
anywhere. Anyway it works fine as it is, only thing would be that it doesn't
support more than 256 colors. It's a tool to convert a BMP into a series of
ICOs, but when supplying the right height it will convert to a single ICO
file.
I could send it to you with some instructions on how to use it if you're
interested...

/Nico
