One one of my computers, the AS icon shows in my system
tray upon startup, on another it doesn't (and "hide icon
in system tray" is not ticked). How do I get the icon to
show in the system tray of my second computer?

Hello KWF,

Goto: Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove programs/MSAS
then click on support info!!!
Then click on repair!

Has nothing to do with MSAS.

It's a long standing bug with XP.

Logging off and logging back on is the only known
workaround.

When you do this, many more icons will show in the
systray as well. I think the bug has something to do
with the customization feature for the Taskbar.

Alan,

I have tried logging off/logging in, uninstalling/reinstalling, and also
went to the Program list to start. I have not been able to get MASpyware
icon in icon tray. I even went to Add/Remove programs to repair and still
nothing shows up.

Hello?.

try this:

Goto: Start/Control Panel/Add-Remove programs/MSAS
then click on support info!!!
Then click on repair!

If that wont work then it is really a XP problem,

I give a workaround for all the missing things in the systray:
Go to:
C:\Windows\system32\
and look for systray.exe, right click on it and make a shortcut
from it, then move the shortcut to the common startup folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\StartMenu\Programs\Startup\

Restart the computer.
