Icon labeled ~

I get an icon on the desktop labeled "~". I delete it and it eventually
returns. The properties gives no clue. Any ideas what this is, where it
comes from and how to get rid of it?

It's a temp copy of your address book which appears due to a bug in an OE
update some time ago. Give it the .wab extension and you can see exactly
what it is.

Simplest answer at this time seems to be "Ignore it".

it is a small and unimportant bug in OE. Actually it appears when the
address book is updated. It should appear in the address book directory. If
you update OE with the last patches it won't happen again.
