icon in system tray

When I first installed the program, the icon appeared in
the system tray. For some reason it disappeared, and I
can't get it appear again. In general Settings, I do
have the option checked--hide icon in system tray.
 
go to your taskbar properties and change the setting for
the system tray to "always show". would be the first
thing I would check.
 
Did set it so that it's always running in the background? Try running it
again and see if it's already running.
 
But you said you have in the options you have enabled so it does not appear
in the system tray, that should answer your question.
 
Did you say this backwards? Check that option again?

If the option is set to allow the icon to show, but it does not, I'd
recommend doing an update install:

control panel, add or remove programs, Microsoft Antispyware, change,
update.

Options > Settings > General > check/uncheck the systray setting.
Try rebooting, this may help.
