Icon for Real Player mp3 files

I have my own icon designated for mp3 files, but Real
Player somehow replaces it with their own icon every
couple of days. This has become a pet peeve. I am tired
of changing the icon back to what I want, only to have
Real Player change it back to their own icon. I am
wondering how to prevent Real Player from changing my mp3
icon. I have emailed Real Networks, but got no response
to this one. Thanks!

Real player is one of the most savage programs for taking ownerships
and associations of file type without asking you.. For that reaosn I
usually steer clear of it.

Now, that said, you need to open real player, and then "view" menu
there is "prefereneces" (not the most obviousl place for preferneces
menu)


and now on the prefereces box you need the "upgrade" tab and at the
bottom there is "media types" and a buttton marked "Auto Restore
Settings"

Then there is a long drop down box of filetypes, if there is a tick in
the box then real will always re-associate itself with those types
every time it is needed, you'll be needing "mpeg audio"
