Hello,

how to remove the small icon of outlook 2003 near the hour (on the right of
the bar) in windows?

thanks

Tools-> Options-> tab Preferences-> button E-mail Options-> button Advanced
E-mail Options-> option Show an envelope...

Good Luck!

oops, had the wrong notification indeed. How much memory does that little
Outlook icon takes by the way? Otherwise it would be easier to hide the
notification if you are on an XP-machine.

you can't remove the connection icon - try
http://www.sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout/ - I think it can disable it.

under 7000 kb, but who cares - I have plenty to spare. hiding it on XP
doesn't stick long - I've tried it with outlook and other apps. after a
reboot its back.

I've got plenty too spare too, I just asked it for the hiding purposes but
if that doesn't work...

Actually it's quite strange forcing you to put something in the notification
area. For (almost) all programs you can choose whether you want to display
it or not. Why not for Outlook?

outlook 2003 uses the icon as a menu to enable/disable connectivity
alerts - it also shows status - online, offline, syncing etc. exchange users
can control+click and see connection status too.
