Could you please explain to me where I d/l icons to?.... I
know where downloadable fonts go but can't seem to find
the prog or folder that the icons go to.... thanks !
 
Hello Patty,

You may download icons to a folder of your choice.
Give the folder an appropriate name such as Icons-DL.

You can put them anywhere you want. Make a special folder for them.

Then you can change shortcuts' icons to that path in the shortcut
properties.

Changing filetypes' icons can be done in Folder Options.

What you have been told is correct, however, I have found
that sometimes my custom icons do not load at startup
unless they are loading from an icon folder I have placed
in a windows system folder.

There is no explanation for why you find this. I have my icons on a
seperate partition to the windows folder. I keep all files on seperate
hard-drives or partitions to make reinstallation much easier.
