ICON DISPLAY PROBLEM

In XP, my midi sequencer program files suddenly show the windows media
player icon instead of their usual icon.

I tried deleting the .mid file type and creating a new one, but the wmp
icon still displays. When I choose Change Icon, the correct icon is not
in the group of icons shown.

Where are these icons stored, and how can I find the icon that belongs
to a specific file type?

The icons are usually stored in the executable program itself. So,
identify the name and location of the sequencer program, and when you click
browse to search for the icons, point it there.
