Please someone help!
I have asked Pc World and Freeserve and had no answers
that rectify my problem.
My daughter was able to use chat and we had no problems
downloading, completely, the websites we wanted until now.
I really don't think it is to do with restrictions as it
may be something as innocent as a flower or a read group
chat room that won't download. On the whole internet
access is good. All I see where the picture or dialogue
should be, is an icon in the top left corner of a little
red dot(in top left corner of icon box) with what looks
like the head and shoulders of a person perhaps crouched
over a computer(this is green and blue). Pc World said
they didn't recognise my description of this icon which
frustrates me as it can't be exclusive to me can it? They
also said I might have to do system recovery which means
I will lose my email address. Please help! Regards, Jayne.

Hi Jayne,

No offense but your description does sound a bit weird. I
have a few questions, though.

You said your daughter was able to use "chat" - which
chat? AOL's Instant messenger, Yahoo's, MSN's, etc?

You said you "were able to download completely, the
websites we wanted" - what do you mean by that? Web sites
cannot be downloaded. You may download a file from a
website if a link is provided, or use the "Save Target As"
to save a picture (in most cases), but a website cannot be
downloaded completely so I don't understand what you mean.

You also said "until now". Meaning, until you got XP, or
until recently, or until you set up restrictions?

Which web site in particular are you talking about?

I also don't understand why (and who told you) system
recovery would lose your email address.

It does sound like your restrictions, though. If you are
indeed the parent, try removing any restrictions and see
if you have the same problem(s).

Hope this helps,
Lynn
