Before I changed to Vista I used the Powertoys to delete the arrow on the
Icons that were on the Desktop. How do I make them go away in Vista.

Thanks to all
Dave

Only if it's done the wrong way.

Deleting the 'IsShortcut' registry entry is wrong.

Replacing the arrow overlay with a transparent icon is right.

Is there one? Or a way to make that Shortcut arroe smaller? I am
running my resolution at 1600x1200. Icons are ok it is just that
shortcut arrow.

Try this program, Bill.

Frameworkx, Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover (FxVisor 1.3):
http://www.frameworkx.com/frameworkx/contentblogdetail.aspx?blog=56&id=636

It provides a "Light Arrow" option also:

Or use lightarrow.ico available here:

Thank you very much. I downloaded and installed FxVisor.

I tried before to remove the shortcut arrow but after I did that
whenever I tried to run a game from within Games Explorer. They would
not load. With FxVisor I got rid of the arrow and still can launch
games within Games Explorer.

Thanks again.

Bill
