Hi

I'd like to add "services" (=port groups) to the FW settings like the
pre-configured group "File And Printer Sharing".

My guess is that I should create a .icd file and open it from the "Add
Program" dialog.
The problem is that I can't find any clue about the icd file format.
(tried google, my computer, groups, msdn...)

Any clues?
Microsoft support?

TIA,
j

customized port groups are not available in current versions of Windows
Firewall.

..icd files are commonly used by games and other cd/dvd media based
applications. I think they're usually hard-drive "stub" files that call out
to files on the media in the cd/dvd drive to prevent you from playing the
game without having bought a copy

1. What about "File and Printer Sharing" ??? its a group aint it?
2. if u look at the "Add Program" dialog, u'll see that the file-open
dialog launched by the browse button allows u to choose exe, com or icd
file!
3. I've found this group setting in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\DomainProfile\GloballyOpenPorts\List

I guess I'll to improvise
