When starting Outlook 2003, every time I get an automation error. Top bar in
blue reads "iCardAddln" Gray box reads "Automation Error" 2nd line reads
Specific module could not be found". I have tried reloading the program,
repairing the program and a search of the web has not shown me anything about
this error.

Thanks

go to tools, options, other, advanced, addins and disable it. also delete
extend.dat.

Tried that too, still no extend.dat.

In Windows Explorer, enter "%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook" (without the
quotes) in the Address field. Click Go. You should see it there. Outlook
2003 does not operate without creating extend.dat.

Nope, 8 files, none are extend.dat.

I'm running Outlook 2003 on a Windows/2000 machine and I don't have
an extend.dat file in that directory either.

However, I do see one here:

Documents and Settings\me\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

where 'me' is my user name.

Perhaps that is the location you meant?

The default location is \Documents & Settings\'username'\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

DL, well I finally found it and deleted it. However I am still getting the
automation error when I start up outlook.

Yup. I mistyped. I should have typed
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Sorry for
the mistake.

OK, the file is gone, but not the problem. Still get the automation error
when I open outlook. Help!
