iCal export failure

Greetings,

What would cause saving some Outlook calendar items in iCal format for
uploading to a web calendar to fail? Some items are saved and uploaded with
no problem, and some result in an 'operation failed' message and a 0-length
file created.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

What nuggets do you wish to have gleaned for you?

I have two versions of Outlook, 2000 and 2002. Saving an event as an iCal
fails in both versions. No obvious differences between events that fail and
the events that work. It would be helpful if you could tell me what clues
you are needing.

Thank you.

Outlook versions for one - thanks for that much. What text format are you
using for the items? Outlook Rich Text? How are you saving them? What
versions of Outlook are trying to download them? Any common denominator in
that scenario?

Milly and Diane,

The export text format is iCal (eventname.ics), via 'file / save as'. The
failing items are single and not recurring (I haven't tried them as yet)
events. They to be uploaded to a web calendar provided by k5n
(http://www.k5n.us/webcalendar.php). However, I never get that far: Outlook
fails on the saving of the item to a folder for later importing to the web
diary. I cannot think of any common denominator: the items are essentially
the same (one- or two-hours, with event name and location, but same category
and label). Only difference I can think of is that the few that failed are
Sunday events, and the ones that worked are weekday events.

Hope this helps.
Thanks
Larry S

Further on symptoms: I have successfully exported and uploaded recurring
appointments and the weekday/weekend symptom was false, I have had some or
each work and some of each fail.
