Hello all;

I have an Intel N440BX with 2 X PIII 450, 768mb

I tried to connect a IBM DCHS09F CLAR09 hard disk (50 pin) to the board.
The onboard scsi controller can see the hard disk, I varified and formatted
the IBM was fine.
But it also show "no supported devices found"
I used an IDE hd with win2003 server, it can see the scsi hd (very slow to
boot and brought up computer management), when it start to init. the hard
disk, it said internal error occured.
I took out the IDE hd, just used XP setup CD to boot, it found the scsi hd
(it took a long time) but gave me write error.

IBM hd scsi ID 4 with auto start.

Appreciate any kind of advice / help.

Cheers,

Cedric Ng

Hello,
Seems your hdd comes from a Clariion array, so it's formated using 520 bytes
sector size.
To make it usable with major oses you should change the sector size to 512
bytes per sector with a specialized utility.
Regards

Hi ;
That's it.
I used scsitool to format the hard disk with 512. After that the hard
disk information appear in the controller.
Thanks for your help.
It took me a long time to get the scsitool disk work.

Thanks a lot.

Cheers
