Hello Agnes.

I'm not sure what your problem is. Are you trying to recover data or are you
trying to get the drive reformatted?

I think in either case you might want to check out

http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm

- I know it says Hitachi, but Hitachi and IBM are in a strategic alliance.
The tool on this page, "Drive Fitness Test", is for both IBM and Hitachi
drives. I *think* it can be used for low-level formatting your drive. I
used a similar utility to low-level format a Maxtor drive that was
completely ruined by Windows.

Try it out, and let's know what happens.

The problem is .. BIOS do not see the drive !!!!

:-((

Yes, but is there data on the drive that you need to get back? In that case,
GetDataBack is actually pretty good. There's a lot of utilities, though.

Oh, and just for the record, the drive of mine that Windows killed wasn't
detected in the BIOS or in Windows either. Still got it back using the
Maxtor low-formatting tool. I have no idea how Windows could screw it up so
bad, but somehow it did. Worked perfectly afterwards though... I really
think you should try to download the program I gave you a URL for, and then
see what it says. It's a diagnostics utility first and foremost.
