Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta 1 detects this and deletes it.
When I reboot, it's back. I've just deleted again but I'm
guessing it will keep coming back. How do I get rid of it
for good? It slows up my browsing considerably. I'm using
Mozilla Firefox, Windows XP.

Have you tried these operations running in safe mode?

1) Update both Microsoft Antispyware and your antivirus
application.

2B)Shut down the computer and turn off the power. Wait for
at least 30 seconds, and then restart the computer in Safe
mode or VGA mode.

Empty your IE cache and your other temporary file
folders, eg: c:\temp, c:\windows\temp or C:\Documents and
Settings\<name>\Local Settings\Temp (the path to your temp
folder will change depending on your name) - sometimes
programmes can be hidden in there - watch out for
mysterious *.exe files or *.dll files in those folders.

3) Do full deep scans with Microsoft Antispyware. Repeat
scanning until a complete scan comes through clean. Ditto
with the antivirus.

This isn't guaranteed, but it works for a great many items
that at first appear not to be cleaned in normal mºde.

Download the following and run a thorough scan in safe
mode:
Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder -

Same problem. 1st day - infected file removed by Microsoft
Antispyware - no problem. 2nd day - IBIS was back -
infected file removed by Microsoft AntiSpyware corrupted my
Internet Explorer - I get a runtime error trying to start
Explorer now. I'm trying to find a way around having to
reinstall XP and updates to fix Internet Explorer. Any ideas?

My second time through with Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta 1
did the trick for now. Some time back I had the run time
error type of problem with IE. I could never fix it and
rather than reload I switched to Mozilla Firefox for my
browser and have been very pleased with it. Thank you
Engel for the advice which I have retained for future use.
