We've had a few PC's crash after the patch was applied
(less than 10 so far, but probably more Monday). Has
anyone else noticed the same problem? Does anyone know
why this is happening?
Here's what happens:
1) patch is installed, and user restarts their PC
2) before Windows even shuts down, they get an error ...
the title bar says: "sas window: winlogon.exe
entry point not found
the rest of the window says: "the procedure entry
point I_certupdatestore couldn't be located in Dynamic
Link Library CRYPT32.dll"
The only way we've been able to fix it is by booting from
the Windows 2000 Pro CD and running the "manual repair"
process ... sometimes we've had to run the repair twice.
I've also seen a PC with this error reboot OK.
We tested these patches on 40 to 50 PC's, so I don't know
why some are starting to have problems.
