Further to cleaning and deep cleaning my i960 after a nozzle check, am now
getting horizontal line and vertical streaking on my color prints. Any
clues?
Herb - go to the following site, look up the FAQ on why my printer doesn't
print properly, read the various posts on cleaning the print head, and start
with the simplest steps. If you are using aftermarket carts or refilling,
there are some issues regarding the cartridges themselves as opposed to its
being strictly a print head clog. I refill my i960 cartridges with ink from
MIS. After carts have been filled several times they can present feed
problems that look like head clogs. The Nifty Stuff forum is very good for
info on troubleshooting all these issues, especially for Canon printers.
The cleaning routines that come with the printer software are OK for minor
clogs but not for more stubborn ones.
The horizontal lines sound like the typical "banding" that can be a problem
cart or head clog. The streaking sounds more like the wrong type of paper.
