I have been successfully refilling for a few months now. One thing I
have a problem with is filling the sponge side of the ink tank. It
never seems to want to take ink. The last time I refilled yellow
(could have been any color, just happened to be yellow) it would not
print. It acted like it was clogged. I took out the tank, removed the
little rubber ball that seals the ink side and all of a sudden the ink
went into the sponge. The only thing I can figure is that there was
some sort of air lock stopping the ink from going into the sponge.
Anyone that is refilling have any ideas? Also why will it not take ink
in the sponge side? Maybe I shouldn't even try putting it in that side
because that might have caused the air lock.

Thanks

I remove the plastic ball that seals the top of the ink tank.
I tap the hole for a 10-32 screw to act as a seal.
My procedure for refilling. Hold the tank at 45 degree angle
with liquid tank at low end. Remove screw. Fill with ink.
Replace screw. Takes about 1 minute. Sealing of exit hole
not necessary. Inking sponge not necessary. Enough ink
flows into the sponge during refill.

Best way I've found is to leave the sponge chamber vent hole open whilst
filling the front chamber, not the sponge chamber. Once filled, seal the
fill hole (in the front chamber) with your rubber ball, then seal the
vent hole over the sponge chamber with tape until you're ready to use
the cartridge. Remove the tape before loading into the printer.

Do bear in mind that these cartridges won't take refilling for ever -
eventually the sponge loses its absorbency properties and won't feed
properly. At that point it's time to invest in new ones.
