I386 folder location pls ?

Hi ... I am try to locate the i386 folder , I don't see it if I try to
view C:\Windows\ or C:\ , So where is it hidden ? Thanks

PS : windows xp pro retail version 5.1.2600 sp 2 build 2600

Using XP Home.

The only i386 folders that I can find are
C:\Windows\Service Pack Files
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_04\lib\i386
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0001\DriverFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0003\DriverFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0004\DriverFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0006\DriverFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0008\DriverFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0010\DriverFiles\i386

I would say the Java directory came from when I installed Java

The ReinstallBackups are, I guess, what they say

So perhaps the answer is
C:\Windows\Service Pack Files

I don't know about XP Pro, but my PC has SP2

The I386 folder is located on your Windows XP CD. Many people copy the
I386 folder down to their computer so that they do not have to insert
the CD every time Windows needs to copy system files over when new
hardware is installed or new windows components are added.
 
How many places did you Multipost this to?

Which i386 folder?

C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386
C:\WINDOWS\inf\i386

From the root folder of the system partition of your hard disk drive (for
example, C:\ ), copy the following files to the floppy disk:
Boot.ini
NTLDR
Ntdetect.com
