When I said I never expected to hear back from Yahoo (Nov 8, How to Remove
Yahoo Toolbar), I was quite confident in that statement. I checked my yahoo
email box today, as I do about this time every weekend, and there was a
message from Yahoo tech service less then 24 hours after posting my question
to them providing detailed instructions for how to adjust the registry to
remove the Yahoo Toolbar - complete with all the proper warnings about how
such can cripple my system. I was wrong, they did answer and in a very timely
fashion. I'm not brave enough to try the removal process so I'm stuck with
Yahoo in my system. However, with IE7's help I was able to disable the Yahoo
Toolbar and Helper so at least the toolbar's not onscreen eating up space and
the helper icon isn't popping up all over the place making a pest of itself.

Strange, we remove the yahoo toolbar using the Add and remove computer
programs from the control panel.

If you installed yahoo messenger then you missed the options to refuse the
helper and toolbar.

In that case you may not see the helper or toolbar in add remove programs.
In that case simply remove the whole thing, messenger and all, and then be
careful to check the OPTIONS when you reinstall it. Not sure what the latest
installer does but a previous one forced you to uncheck the toolbar / helper
option twice, so maybe that is where you missed it if this came along with
messenger..
