Well it was my birthday yesterday, and its kind of a tradition for me to treat myself to something......

I have been looking at some new RAM for my pc, but i need help in deciding if its worth the money or not. I also want to check its compatable and will work.

6th one down here Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS2 (MY-079-CS)

My Motherboard

Or maybe a new mouse, as i just got a standard MS wheel one. Logitech G7 looks really cool!

So if anyones got any advice for me then please say so! :thumb:

Well the Logitech is a bit cheaper than the others, but it depends on how much you want to spend. If your happy with your current system then go for the RAM, but as you mentioned a Motherboard may be go for that, both RAM & MBoard seem to have plus points to them, could you afford both??

Bit of a difference in price there, ain't there? £141.00 or £50.00, hmm.

And yes, the memory is compatible with your motherboard. Shame it has no dual memory facility but you can always add another 1 gig stick to the third slot at a later date if you wanted to.

I got a G7 mouse for Christmas, it's the best mouse I've ever owned. On the other machines I have a couple of MX1000's and an MX700.

It will definitely give you an edge in gaming once you get used to it. And it does take some getting used to, it's very very sensitive on highest setting.

So, I dunno, what's the most important? If you do lots of video rendering or use lots of memory intensive programs, get the RAM. If gaming's a priority, go for the mouse.

If you're feeling flush and want to spend around 200 quid including postage, get both :D

And, even though I own one, that G7 is definitely overpriced. Overpriced, but excellent ;)

Happy Belated Birthday V_R! :)

hope u had a nice day

yes that mouse does look rather nice! go for it :)

i agrre with 100% with flopps, but i've never owned any of those mice

I own the Logitech MX518 which i think is a great mouse and at £30 isn't too expensive.

I like the Mouse and the APPLE

Yeah, i know the prices are somewhat different, but basically thats because i like/want both of them! Its my birthday treat for myself so i dont mind splashing out on either! :D

My thinking is that i can use the RAM in a new system (939) when i next build one. Unless 939 AMD's go out the window in the next few months. Correct?

Hmmm, still thinking for now....... You haven't quite sold either of them yet! :p

Flops, is the mouse software (Setpoint is it?) good?

Wise words Chris, Thanks. :thumb:

Well ive just installed my new RAM! (see sig) :D

Haven't played any games yet, but will very soon!

I still want that mouse and will probably get it eventually.

Just for the record, i ordered it from Overclockers.co.uk at about 10.30am yesterday, and to my supprise i got the despatch email at 11.45am that same morning. It arrived today at 11.00am. Well done to overclockers another happy customer. :thumb:

Only just noticed this, sorry V_R.

Yes, the Logitech Mouse software is good, imo, it is Setpoint, currently at version 260 I believe.

Hope you're enjoying your new memory :)

Sorry to start an old thread again, however that memory V_R mentioned I bought the a 512MB matched pair of 2225 a while ago for my 4200 rig it was on offer at the time £100 for 1Gig, it should have been £145. Anyway has anyone seen it around in any online store?

Ive been looking for ages and never seen the same memory again! All I see is the 2336 or lower
