OK, I don't have a Pocket PC; I have a Palm. Of course, I see nothing on MS
to make THAT easy!! Should I wait since I'm going to get the new Treo 700
with W
indows in the next Q2006?

PamDHH,

BCM currently does not synch with the Windows Mobile version 5.0 which is
what the upcoming Treo 700W will be running on. No one really knows when
these 2 apps (BCM & Windows Mobile 5.0) will be updated to allow support of
each other or why they unbelievably do not do so currently. Sometimes it
seems like Microsoft operates in a vacuum away and apart from what real users
are doing out in the world but enough editorializing from me. If you get the
new Treo 700W with Verizon in early '06 you will only initially be able to
synch your native Outlook default Contact folder with this mobile device. If
you stay with your current Palm OS device, you can synch your Business
Contacts folder via an excellent 3rd party app called "Key Suite" and it can
be found at www.chapura.com. Chapura is the maker of the Pocket Mirror
conduit software that all Palms use to Hot Synch with Outlook. These folks
are very expert at synchronization and their stuff always works flawlessly.
I use Key Suite with my Treo 650 and the Outlook information transfer to the
handheld is much more complete with respect to all of the Outlook fields data,
etc. Key Suite is a little pricey but well worth it in my experience.

Best wishes,

An additional comment:

Chapura does have a multi-folder hand held synchronization application for
current version Windows Mobile OS for Pocket PC but I do not believe that
this yet supports the latest Windows Mobile 5.0. You may wish to call them
to inquire further. They will likely have an update available well before
Microsoft itself gets around to releasing an updated active synch capability
for BCM and Windows Mobile 5.0.

Again, I can't say enough good things about Chapura. They have always
historially been very connected and proactively anticipating with what their
real world users require for workflow usage.

Tim P, you may be my hero. I've successfully synched Outlook with my Treo
600 (yes, I know it's time to move up) for almost 2 years now and
implementing BCM has thrown me for a loop. Now, all of my Contacts that have
been updated and filed as "Business Contacts" no longer synch, and in fact,
wiped the contact from my Treo.

I'm praying this Chapura Key Suite will be my saviour. THANK YOU.
