Not sure I quite understand the body of your post. But answering the
question in the title...
To shade an area between two lines:
- If the lines form opposite sides of a rectangle, draw a box that's the
same size as the lines. Remove the outline of the box and choose whichever
shade pattern you need. Put it behind the lines and you're done.
- If the lines are not parallel or aligned in any way. Use the freeform
autoshape and click the four ends of your lines. Remove the outline of the
resulting shape, fill it as you like and put it behind the lines.
The freeform tool takes a bit of practice, but as long as you get a closed
shape with only four vertices, right click on it and select "edit points"
and you can fix the alignment afterwards.
Geoff may have it but really you need to give a clearer explaination.
