Hey

I'm a novice at video editing but I find the windows program to be very well laid out and I'm enjoying working with it. It's very easy to use and I've created a couple of projects. They were recorded on a VCD and there is no problem with the disc being read in a computer drive. I very much want to burn some of these projects to DVD so I can play them on consumer DVD decks. Is there some way that I can save or convert the file information to MPEG-2 format or a format which will be read by a consumer DVD player? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Si

You can render it as VCD (mpeg1) and then create a VCD
using normal CD 700mb disk. Use NERO 6 or look for a
shareware program that does it. VCD's can play on majority
of DVD players. Should fit about 50min movie.
You will just have a lower quality film as the rendering
of the project will be mpeg1 (VCD) as apposed to what DVD
(mpeg2)
If you want to burn it on to a DVD then render it as a
mpeg2 then use a DVD authoring program.
NERO6 is quite a good program to do all your movie burning
things.
I can't remember but I think MM2 also has a wizard for
burning to vcd or dvd

Also to render movies to different formats I suggest a
free program called http://www.tmpgenc.net/
Free program. Can split,render etc...

Hi'a Sig

This is how I do mine, which I burn to DVD, and watch on my telly. When you have finished editing your movie, click on 'Save To My Computer>(put your details in the first page)>next>Click on 'other settings' and select DV-AVI>then click 'next'. It will save it to your pc in the AVI format which that can be imported with the appropriate software and burned to DVD

I use Sonic MyDVD, and 'create DVD'. Import movies, and take it from there.... MyDVD makes up a title page, just like on a regular DVD movie that you rent, with thumbnails of all your shows on the disc

Hope that helps...., Regards, Michaela
