i can't put up with the current one anymore! it seriously irks me. i have a
project due and the errors that keep poping up have disabled me to continue
editing my movie. i trashed my movie and decided to start from scratch (even
delete codecs and re-installed them, tho the Windows Installer keeps trying
to DL codecs i already have!)
i thought if i just started anew, the problems would be gone, but lo, now i
can't even see the video (i hear audio) when i put a clip in the timeline!!!
so, how do i go about re-installing Windows Media Player? i've went to sites
like download.com but the thing just doesn't work! my comp. came w/ the movie
maker, i don't know how to restore it to how it used to function...without a
problem!

any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you by chance trying to use mpeg movie clips? These give the symptons of
audio no video. It is best to use dv-avi or wmv, so convert those files if
you can.
As for re-installing. You cannot un-install adn re-install. It is part of
windows. You can update from V1 to V2 or V2.1. V2.1 comes with SP2. If you
feel it is a MM problem you could try re-installing whichever version you
have over the top of the last one, easiest with V2.1 as you can use a SP2
cd.
Which version do you have.
