I just got 2 new computers, one with with XP pro, the other with XP home.
Both have IE6. I want my Favorites to only show my favorites that has
recently been used. Instead they are all listed. They would be hiden behind
an arrow to point on and teh show up grayed out.
This feature works on my Win2k systems with the same IE.
Any hints would be highly appreciated

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced

Go to the Browsing section of the page and make sure that "Enabled
Personalized Favorites Menu" is ticked

Follow Adam's advice. Know that it will take a few days of information
gathering for it to kick in.

Guys,

I have that checked off correctly, for more that a week, and it doesn't
work. I am wondering if it just isn't supported anymore, or if it doesn't
work in combination with other parameters set.

Any hints?

I haven't tried this feature yet so I don't know how it works exactly
but it may be another one of these undocumented (restart required
or "best set by Internet Properties instead of Internet Options" options).

To eliminate all such considerations close all IE windows and verify
that iexplore.exe is not being run by an active task (e.g. using
Task Manager's Processes tab.) Then set the option using the
Internet Properties dialog. E.g. Run... (press Win-R and enter:)

control inetcpl.cpl

If the option appears to be checked in the dialog at that time,
toggle it off and on.

Additionally it may be useful to do an IE Repair. You haven't disclosed
your OS version. If you have XPsp2 try the new command line repair
tool at the same time. (I.e., while iexplore.exe is not otherwise active
and while msimn.exe (aka OE) is not being run by a task.)

iexplore.exe /rereg

Note: there is no feedback from this command. So you may prefer
to do it in a command window. E.g. Run... cmd and enter there:

cd %ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer
iexplore /rereg

Good luck
