I have several very large files 4GB and when the Spyware application sees
these it seems to stall. I want to exclude certain files and/or
directories.

David,

Click the Spyware Scan icon, click the drop down arrow next to Scan
options, put a mark next to Full system scan, then click the link next
to Scan drive/folders. Uncheck the folders/directories you do not want
scanned from there.

Except that the select folders to scan does not work (at
least for me. Settings are not saved, and there is a
problem with selecting subfolders (parent folder and all
its other subfolders gets unchecke). I posted this some
days ago I think in the general forum.

Have you gotten any response? I'm having serious issues
with performance of our software which accesses a
relational database across a network. Even if I have
real-time protection deactivated, if the MS AntiSpyware
is running (shows in my toolbar, not necessarily doing a
scan) my application dies. As soon as I right-
click/shutdown MSAS, all goes back to normal. I have
been searching for a way to exclude the database from any
part of MSAS!

Correct-I do not have it loaded in a production
environment. However, I can't control what my clients'
IT folks do, so was looking for some option to lessen
their pain. Thanks-

Performance issues are one area that is a focus during a beta.

It might not hurt to start a new thread with performance in the subject
header and giving specs and naming the app involved.
