Hi Pennie.
Here's a way to keep Windows Messenger from launching, which should help you
out with the headaches you've experienced between Windows and MSN
Messengers.
Click Start, Run, and type "msconfig" (w/o the quotes), and press <ENTER>
Click on the Startup tab
Find the item "msmsgs", and click the checkbox to uncheck the item.
Click Apply, OK
You will be notified that changes won't take effect until you restart your
system. Go ahead and restart your system.
After you've rebooted, Windows Messenger will no longer automatically load.
You should only see MSN Messenger.
Hope that helps you out!

I sent in several messages yesterday but still can't get this to work.
I've done the Tools>>Options, and unclicked the run automatically and to
allow to run in the background. I've done the Norton thing and Windows
Messenger is still doing it's thing. Is there a way to delete Windows
Messenger?, I don't use Outlook which I've heard can be affected if you
disable or delete Windows Messenger. I have MSN Messenger and that's all I
want to use.
