I run Windows XP Home edition, and I'm the only user. I would like to
disable the logon window from the start up process...How to?

TIA

Hi,
I read further, and saw the thread about the Welcome screen, and I tried the
following:
Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Uncheck Users must enter a
username and password....... Click Apply. On the next screen enter the
username and password for that account, if any.

However, at next startup, I still got the user logon box, AND...since I had
no password, it would not let me log in. I have never set a password for
this computer, as I am the only user. I eventually had to go into safemode
and return the original settings.
Thus, I am still booting up to that windows password screen, at which, I
just click through. Its just something I never use, and would like to
eliminate, if possible.

Did you enter your username, or did you leave it at the Default of
Administrator? You need to type in your username.
