It always saves in wmm format?
Is there a simple way to convert this?

Hi there,

Movie Maker 2 can save the output in two formats....DV-AVI and WMV, and as
DV-AVI is a set standard should you choose a size or speed capability
(number of kilobytes a second) that is not in that standard then MM2 will
save it as a WMV.

To get an AVI output, click on File > Save Movie File > My Computer > Next >
Give it a name and location to save to > Next > Other Settings > DV-AVI
(either PAL or NTSC) > Next

DV-AVI files can get very large, so make sure you have sufficient disk
space.

Hi there,

The below is from the help file that comes with Movie Maker...

The current video format also determines whether either the NTSC or PAL
settings are displayed when capturing video or saving movies after selecting
the Other settings option for either task. For more information about the
video format used by your DV camera, consult the documentation provided with
your DV camera.

Basically, NTSC is the American format, and PAL is European, but among the
countries of the world, you have to look each up to see what they're using.
