I own a copy of media center 2005 by virtue of my HP Media Center PC that I
purchased in June 2005. I happily upgraded to Vista and thought WOW. Well, I
am having so many problems with Vista. I can't take having to reinstall Vista
and all my programs any longer. SIX times! I am so behind on all off my work
and ......my life. I want my XP. But its preinstalled on my HP pavilion. I
don't want to reformat my HD again when I install XP. All I have is the disks
from HP with all the old preloaded programs. It takes a whole day just to get
a useful working computing environment up, from start to finish. Thats
including three hours of downloading MS's XP updates because I bought the
machine in 2005.

On the side of my PC is the Microsoft XP MCE product key. Can I get a copy
of it to download and use the Product Key I own. Its my understanding that
its my copy. Do I have to live with the HP disks? Is it possible to get a
clean copy. Can anyone tell me if this is possible? I have the key. Please, I
really want to get working like I used to on XP. I thought Vista was going to
rock. I was so excited to have bought the high end HP in 2005 to accommodate
Vista. Great decision. I spent money on for upgrading memory and a my
graphics card. I bought Vista HP and it was ***. I thought Ultimate would
solve all the problems. So I bought the HP upgrade to Ultimate. $350 later
and days upon days and weeks WASTED. What a let down. I like Vista, yes. But
it just won't work like it should. Does anyone here me? I have to go back and
be stable, with XP. Why did I have to waste all of April? I can't get that
month back. Can anyone help or tell where I can go to get a clean MCE copy
that my product key will activate? Please? I hope XP forgives me!

Thanks for taking the time to participate. Computing is a full time job.

MCE is not available for legal download, whether you get it by other means
is up to you.
Provided you get your hands on the correct version of MCE, the key on the
COA should work, you may have to call to activate it.
