Hi --

I was lead to beleive from various websites that IE7 finally fixed the
SELECT box so it was able to be styled like other form elements using CSS.
However, I have downloaded IE7 on my development machine and tried applying
some simple styling to a <SELECT> box but it does not effect the appearence.
Whats the deal??

Start here:

Cascading Style Sheet Compatibility in Internet Explorer 7 (Windows
IETechCol):

This is an IE6-specific newsgroup. Those using IE7 are asked to post their
comments & questions to and seek support in
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup (to which I'm
crossposting this reply).

Hi --

I did post this question to the microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general
also but did not see your response there.

I have added

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN">

to the top of my HTML page but this does not effect the incorrect rendering
of the CSS select box.

Any other ideas?

If you must make identical posts to multiple newsgroups, please cross-post
one (1) message to all of them. Thank you.

Nope, sorry. If you can't find the specific information needed on the MSDN
page(s) I cited, you might try the links/references one page up from it:

Or post to one of this MSDN forum:
