I think my website is getting flooded. Need advice.

Hello,
I noticed an IP in AWstats givig 100 times more hits than any other IP.
Is that IP flooding me? I wasted 800MB of bandwidth this month on its
own. How can I ban it?

Firewall, router, or with a server block. You can't if you just have access
to the web.

Note, AWstats is log analysis software, so is someone using your logs to
make reports (you or someone who works for you). Often those programs will
look up stuff from your web site to include in the report. So tell that
software to ignore itself when it makes reports.

If you are getting charged fees for the bandwidth, you'll have to turn off
the option to get the data in your report generation software.
