I think my memory is crashing my computer, any ideas?

Have some OCZ PC4400 (not gloating, just listing hardware first) with an Epox 9NDA+ mobo. the memory "has specifically been designed for the Intel I865 chipset" although no mention is made of it NOT being happy in an AMD rig. I get random clicking noises that sound like the monitor does when it boots, then I get a blue screen with something about uninstalling new hard/soft ware to see if that solves the "problem" and to make sure memory caching or shadowing is disabled in the BIOS (cant see either in my BIOS) Bottom of screen says "memory dumping has started" or similar. Any ideas? Am going to try my other memory next time it happens, see what turns up. Computer will not boot when i hit reset, have to power off and back on.

Any hints, tips welcome

It boots normally after i power off totally. Currently have my Kingston memory in, so far its behaving. Will do what I was doing before for a while, see if anything happens. Could be dodgy memory, or just incompatable with A64. (i`m hoping for option 2, then i can sell what I have)
 
All you needed was some DDR400 (PC3200) :(

LOL... that doesnt satisfy the overclocker in me. Have just found a site for users of the 9NDA+ and theres a list of all bugs, workarounds etc etc and i`ve learned some things already. My FSBx HTT was > 1000 which is apparently bad, although at the mo its 1000 on the button. Could try changing that when I overclock. None of the owners used OCZ memory. Dunno what to make of that.
 
Well... have put my OCZ back in and reset my FSBxHTT so its less than 1000 (is currently 840) and no clicky noises or crashes. Methinks this good :)

If thats it sorted, i`ve learned something today :)
 
Just been getting the same prob with my GeIL Value Select 1GB C2.5 Dual Chanel Kit, will try changing the HT, it had never entered my mind that it could be causing it.

this memory pc4400, how powerful are we talking?
that sounds like it could beat the hell outa my s**** pc2100
well i can confirm a MAJOR UPGRADE is in my mind even if this is at the back!
 
I have the OCZ PC4200 DDR 533MHz designed for the I875 Canterwood - but it says nothing about NOT being compatible with AMD...
 
PSD: it depends on the processor. If you have a proc with a FSB=133 then PC4400 is pointless. I think memory made to work at these speeds has special hardware to help it up to these speeds, and the timings are "not guaranteed to work at lower settings" In my mind that says "Dont even bother trying" PC4400 is only worthwhile at a high FSB and 1:1, FSB:memory settings, and an AGP/PCI lock, preferably hard-coded, not done with dividers or software. Decent PC3200 RAM would beat the cr*p out of these at FSB=200 and less.

OR: if the mobo supports it, lock the memory speed at whatever speed, and raise the FSB of the processor, so you get the benfit of a high CPU speed, but without having to shell out for expensive memory.
 
Well... I got over most of the problems by doin things I cant remember now, but the comp would crash when i exited UT2004. The memory was set to 3-4-4-8, the SPD was 3-6-6-11! So I tried changing to these speeds, still crashed. Then i remembered somethin i`d seen in a forum about reducing the memory voltage if the memory was creating fatal errors. I tried this and.... UT stopped crashing. I dont think I understand how it works, but.... it does!

I learned sometihng today....
