Are you using Wireless ? Is your WiFi on view to everybody ? Could just be somebody trying to connect to your WiFi signal if you . When my SSID is showing I get similar sort of message that somebody is trying to connect to my network. If your AV is picking it up that is a good thing.

Honestly don't know mate. Would just turn my wifi off every time I got the message. If someone is trying to access it and you do that I'm sure they'll soon get sick of it.

Hi Zed, you might also like to try a "WHOIS" IP lookup, just enter the numerical address into the search box and see what comes up. HERE

You will often get a load of details coming up, and from them, you can go on to look up names, domains, etc., from another area of WHOIS, HERE

It looks like you are not alone, lots came up, a bit like peeling an onion  Hope it helps a bit :)

Whats your routers IP Address and the IP of your machine? Is DHCP enabled?

Its not a Belkin Router is it by chance?

;)

Thanks for everyone's input....i think maybe MadX is right....thanks MadX.

TC....i chased the IP address like you suggested and it's someone in california, i think!! a place called the IANA but they say there up to nowt. As you said there's a lot of folk getting the same stuff as me happening ...i think 8 or 9 hundred people in the last couple of days.

As MadX said...i'm just glad my AV is picking it up....i feel a lot better now

V_R....yes it's a belkin router.....please tell me summat nice V_R, lol.
I have it since last march or april............why do you ask??:(

Whats your routers IP Address and the IP of your machines on the network? Is DHCP enabled? Wireless enabled?

Hi V_R,
My pc is the only machine on the network and i have it running wirelessly. I thought the router and pc both had the same IP address ?? I'm not sure how to check to see if DHCP is enabled...i'll have another nosey about.
Thanks.

Hold the windows key and press R > Type cmd hit enter > Type ipconfig /all and hit enter.

Share results. :)

Can't help it, I keep getting this image of the creature from the black lagoon standing over Zed sitting at his keyboard making steak tartare of him with a machette.

The caption fits perfectly, picture it.

Ok, off-topic, me bad - carry on.

He wont be able to eat the crutches though lol.
Them results are back...is it safe to post them?? It will be a big post and i'm not sure if there's any sensitive info in there.

Hi V_R,
There are a few different tunnels and stuff on that result page and some of them say DHCP is enabled and some say not enabled.

Hi V_R,
Sorry to be hassling you but what's the chances that my own router is to blame for all these goings on.
I compared the ip/config with the network alarm page that my av is giving and the IP addresses are almost identical...
