I believe I have deleted a windows component.
I was trying to remove windows messenger and went to add & remove window
components and believe I deleted my DVD rom and also lost my internet
explorer icon. Though I get there from my favorites. Messed around where I
should not have.
When I now go to windows add & remove and check all of them I get this
message:
The file ‘AuthorScript.dll’ on Windows XP Professional CD2 is needed
Copy files from
C:\cmpnente\mediactr\i386
Bought a backup Hard Drive…Now how do I reinstall???PLEASE
Do not have disc. Did not come with.
Geek squad wants 230.00 to help!?!?!?

Do you have some convenient System Restore
points (e.g. saved every week or every month.)
Your simplest remedy might be simply to reboot
one of these.

A system restore may do the trick:
[Start], [All Programs], [Accessories], [System Tools],
[System Restore].

Click "return my computer to an earlier.." & then [Next].

Select a date prior to your problems occurring and follow
directions - it can be UNDONE if it doesn't work.

Thankyou so much Ed & Don for your help! So I tried to restore and this is
what happens...I get this pop up.

Changes made to drive(s)
E:\ after this point cannot be reversed because the drive was either
excluded from Sytem Restore monitoring, or was turned off or removed. OK

yes. I did remove it. I know that...Do I have to buy exspensive software now?
