After reinstalling windows (98se) and all my security
updates, I found that both IE and aim would not work. Aim
crashed and IE had to constantly do the error reporting
buisness. It turns out that msvcrt.dll was the culpret. I
had to download from a third party site an older copy of
that .dll and replace it by way of dos. It was a hassle,
but it solved most of my problems.
