Daniel

I am setting up a network, 6 machines {3: Windows 200, 3
Windows XP; one of which is wireless} 1 router {Linksys
wireless w/4 wired ports} 1 4 port Hub and 1 DSL modem.
From my workstation I can see and access everyone. The
only people that can see me are the 2 wired XP machines.
The wireless XP and the other 2000's can not access my
shared folder. I am not sure why? Can anyone help?

Thanks,
DE2

Verify the Duplex configuration anf the wireless NICs. If
it is configured as Half Duplex you will comunicate with
this computer only in one direction. You can configure it
as Automatic or Full Duplex.

You do not need to mess with the half/full duplex settings on the nic cards
unless you are having performance issues. That person has absolutely no idea
what they are talking about. I just about fell out of my chair when I read
that crap.

since you can see and access all the computers, but the wireless can not
access you it would seem to be a name resolution issue. can the wireless
computer ping you by ip address? also if you are using any kind of firewall
software, disable until your issues are resolved.

Just for the record the half/ full duplex setting on a nic card refer to the
ability to send and receive data at the same time. Full being it can send
and receive at the same time, half being it must do one at a time. A
simplistic explanation but works. besides I have never seen those settings
on a wireless nic anyway.
