sorry but without drivers i can´t test vista. chipset drivers (i tested 5
different nforce packs for xp and vista), sound drivers, ethernet, usb dvb-t
stick... my device manager is full of unknown devices and if i install a
driver successfull another device gets unusuable.
you might say "come on...it is a beta" but at this time for me i feel like
working with win95 with a new theme.
i think 7 months before release date it should be possible to install a
simple ac97 sound device and an asus onboard ethernet controller WITHOUT
getting a crash.
i will keep on testing because i like the idea behind vista but i find it
important to let microsoft know that a real testing isn´t possible. i didn´t
install ONE program and i won´t until i got my device manager clean.

What is your hardware setup? I have ALL of my hardware working. I had to
switch to onboard sound from a Revolution 7.1, but I have sound.

Drivers are usually the last thing to be put into the OS. If they change
something major in the beta stage, it could render the existing drivers
useless, or they may need a drastic change.

AND, device drivers are the responsibility of the device manufacturer, NOT
Microsoft. The ones included with the OS are submitted to MS for examination
and inclusion in the OS.

windows xp has a fantastic driver.cab... everything works without prompting
or making trouble. drivers are the basic elements for making a testing
senseful.
nvidia graphic driver told me that the driver just could be installed on a
windows system... funny isn´t it?

oh...graphic.... how can i change the solution to 1024 x 768?
i can switch to this but when i click on "ok" my screen gets dark for a
short time and then i got 800 x 600 again. i use the ms driver and it is
installed correctly as a nvidia geforce 6600gt. forceware driver don´t work
(tried a few versions for xp and vista).
and can i turn off the volume for the line in?`i can switch it off but the
sound is still there.
