I had reformated my hard drive and when I installed my windows XP
professional with office cd I was told that I had to call a 1-800 number
because the product key had already been activated or something to that
nature. I called the number and and they gave me a new key and was able to
successfully install them. I used to have Outlook before I reformated my hard
drive but at that time I preferred Outlook Express so I did not try to see if
it was also installed. Today I tried to open Outlook and noticed that it was
not installed. I used my Office XP Pro Cd to try and install it from there
but when it asks me to type the product key and I use the one that came with
the CD it tells me that it is not valid. I do not have the cd key that was
given to me over the phone when I reformated my hard drive so I do not know
if because of this the product key was changed. Could someone please tell me
how I can reinstall outlook. Thanks.

You must use the one shown on the Certificate of Authenticity that came with
the CD.

That product key was for Windows and shouldn't affect Outlook.

I do not have the certificate of authenticity. I bought Office XP Pro for
students and they came in pocket sleeves. I transferred the CD's to a Cd
holder and threw away the pocket sleeves. Before I threw them away I took the
stickers that were on them including the Product key and the barcode. Those
were the only 2 stickers with numbers that were on the sleeves. How would the
certificate of authenticity look like. Thanks for your reponse.
