Certainly the ones who sent you the file should be able to give you that
information.

John

If it is very important, why do you not know what it contains? What are you
planning on doing with the file? Could it be Harry's Filters Plugin?
:I have no idea what type of file this is or how to open it and it is very
: important.

The file contains a copy of cancelled checks that we need for our accounting
dept. Our computer system doesn't recognize the file type. I have never
heard of Harry's Filters Plugin but I will google it. Thank you!

Our CFO is contacting the bank who sent the file to resend another format.
Thank you John John for the advice. I felt illiterate for not recognizing
the file type or system. Do you know it's source?

Must be a proprietary one from the bank. Don't find anything on Google.

No, not at all, that is why I suggested that you contact the sender. I
did a quick search for known file extensions and couldn't readily find
solid information on the file extension so I made what I thought to be a
reasonable suggestion.
