I/O device error

Hi people, i get an I/O device error message when i try to open my Maxtor
ixternal drive. Used to work fine though, dont know what happened. How do i
fix it?

You should get a tool from MAXTOR to check the drive, it
could be failing, but *before* that, back-up the data,
better safe then sorry.
